Can we setup the buttonizer widget so that messages are pre-filled with “Message Sent from Website1.com: “?
Example:
https://wa.me/37666666?text=Message%20Sent%20from%20websiteX.com:%0A
This would help us to track the origin of those messages.

Hi idrnet ,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Unfortunately, that is currently not possible in the WhatsApp widget. Although that is a good point.
We will perhaps add some sort of tag feature into the WhatsApp widget so that you can track your messages in the future.
If you have any other ideas, please let us know!
Hi James,
This is important for one of the marketing departments that i work for.
WhatsApp link doesn’t support UTM tracking. To track where WhatsApp leads are generated through WhatsApp link, we create a unique reference / pre-filled message for each source / website like: "Message sent from x.com:"
Then, add them to the pre-filled message of the WhatsApp link. The tracking method only works if the customers use the existing custom pre-filled message, and fortunately most of them keep it as it's usually easier for them to leave it as it is and add their message after it than to remove and re-write a new message from scratch.
My customer paid for the annual subscription of Buttonizer, and now they want to switch back to the previous/traditional link with prefilled message (like https://wa.me/37666666?text=Message%20Sent%20from%20websiteX.com:%0A) because it was providing them with more information.
I find Buttonizer very useful because first the visitors invests a time in writing, then they just click to send, but for the moment it lacks the "pre-filled / tracking" feature that is important for my customer.
So, unfortunately i will have to swith back to the pre-filled message solution, and come back to buttonizer as soon as you allow this feature... :.(
Hey idrnet ,
Thanks for the detailed explanation!
We're currently looking into what we can do for you, I'll give you an update when we've got something
I think what we can do is add another field to the widget in the editor where a prefill text
can be set. When entering a message in the widget and then clicking the button, the prefill message will be added to the beginning of the message. So they only have to hit sent on WhatsApps side.
Would that solve the issue? Also, would you need any other parameters?
Hi Jasper,
Thanks for your reply.
That's exactly what i meant
How long do you think it would take you to implement it?
Hi Jasper,
Any update on this topic?
Hi there,
Tony here with Buttonizer! We will check on this to see if it has been prioritized yet and will post back once we learn more. Thanks for checking in.
Pre-filled message is still not appearing on iframe type of WhatsApp widget.
Please provide any solution for this
Hello,
Thanks for reaching out! You are now able to do what this thread was originally inquiring about, which is set up pre-filled text that gets appended to the first message a visitor sends for marketing/tracking purposes. So if you attach a pre-filled message mentioning where the message is coming from to this field here:
Then that gets appended to the first message sent like this:
That appended text is what the original request was about for this thread. I'm not sure if that helps, or if you are referring to a different sort of pre-filled text in your case. Can I get some more details about what you are trying to do? A use case might be helpful as well so we can better understand what sort of pre-filled text you are looking for.
Please let us know!
