When you use Buttonizer, you will find that we count page views and have plan-limits. In this article we will explain how page-views work and why we count them.
How are pageviews counted?
Pageviews are counted when loading in our widget on a page on your site. If a visitor refreshes the page or goes to another, it will count as another pageview since it reloads the widget and its data as well.
Currently the pageview limits are calculated per month per site.
If you have page-rules or time schedules enabled for buttons and load Buttonizer on all your pages of your website (and have no other widgets), it will count all pageviews of your website and not the specific page where a widget was visible. This is since the script still sends a request to our services to load the page-widgets (if it has any).
Just to be clear: we do not limit button clicks itself when it's loaded, users can interact with the floating content as much as they need.
What happens when I reach the limit?
If you reach the limit for the first time, we'll just give you a heads up. We don't hide Buttonizer just yet and inform you that you reached the limit for the first time per email. We'll keep Buttonizer active on your site.
Doing it this way, you can figure out if you have enough page-views for the rest of the monht (or the upcoming months).
If you reach the limit more than once, we'll pause Buttonizer on your site. It will be invisible until you upgraded to a higher plan or the pageviews have been reset on your site on the next month.
When are pageviews reset?
For all accounts, the pageviews will be reset on the first day of the month at midnight UTC-timezone.
If your site was disabled due to reaching the limit, the widgets will be visible again. This is an automated process and you do not need to worry about it 🙂
Why do we have pageviews?
Buttonizer is fully hosted on our servers and deployed worldwide via a global network (CDN), this means that Buttonizer should be lightning fast worldwide with speeds under 20ms
!
Using a CDN, we are able to keep Buttonizer fast and up-to-date for everyone, we support high-traffic and do the maintenance for you. When you add Buttonizer to your site, it contacts our CDN and uses brandwith.
