Since our standalone it is possible to use Buttonizer on any domain. It is also possible to add the main Buttonizer instance into a subdomain. From now on you do not need to create seperated instances anymore.
Issues when deploying to a production environment
When you are adding Buttonizer to a development or staging domain, you will experience that Buttonizer is not loading on the production domain. This can be fixed by changing the domain of your site to your production domain, please read more below.
TIP: If you want to use Buttonizer on both www.example.com
and your main domain example.com
, only enter your main domain.
NEW: Agencies can add secondary domains for a single instance. Read more here!
Example
If your domain name is mysite.com
, you will be able to use the same Buttonizer instance on mysite.com
and on any subdomain of mysite.com
, for example: subdomain.mysite.com
.
Requests from:
mysite.com
will work
subdomain.mysite.com
will work
dev.mysite.com
will work
staging.mysite.com
will work
othersite.com
will not work
Second example
If you set the Buttonizer instance domain to subdomain.mysite.com
, your instance will only work on subdomains of your original subdomain.
Requests from:
subdomain.mysite.com
will work
subdomain.subdomain.mysite.com
will work
mysite.com
will not work
othersite.com
will not work
Changing the domain
You can change your domain by going into your accounts site overview, then find your site and go to it's settings. The first setting on the top is the domain setting.
Change your domain and save your changes. It can take a few minutes, but Buttonizer should now be able to load into your new domain.
Error message
If you still try to use the Buttonizer instance on a (sub)domain that is not accepted by our server, you might see the following message appearing in the console:
This domain is not allowed to load this Buttonizer content.
In that case we won't display buttons and.
Please check for the following:
- Did you correctly spelled the (sub)domain?
- Is the instance locked to a subdomain?
- Did you paste the correct Buttonizer code snippet?
