Good Day Buttonizer Masters,

I recently discovered this plugin and I think it is awesome.

I'm having a few challenges setting it up and here they are:

Challenge 1: The Facebook Messenger Chat Widget isn't Working

I have checked that my site is whitelisted on my Facebook page and it is (I made sure it is saved correctly). It is served over https, and I whitelisted the domain both with and without "www".

I copied the page ID from the About tab (below the More Info section).

I have searched the source code on my site for the following script:

<script async defer src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js"></script>

However, I can't seem to find it anywhere. Perhaps you could help double check for me please?

I'm not sure what else could be causing this issue, but when I hover over the button, then it says "javascript:void(0)" at the bottom left of the webpage (just above the windows button).

I am not using Local Host or IP Address.

Challenge 2: Mail action (email address)

How can I set this up so that it opens the email in a new tab. Using the default setup, it opens the users Email in the same tab (essentially closing the website and replacing it with their email service). This is obviously far from ideal.

Challenge 3: When I try to share on Pinterest I am redirected to a page that shows:

"Choose an image to create a Pin
No images found"

Then the following error message pops up:

"Something went wrong

Invalid parameters."

How does one resolve this issue?

Challenge 4: The default format when a user clicks to share looks like this:

"[Insert Website Name] Hey! Check out this link: https://molomarket.com/"

Is there a way to customize this default?

Thank you for your assistance.

Kind regards and best wishes,
Jethro

    Hi MoloMarket ,

    Apologies for the late reply!

    Regarding the Facebook Messenger,
Are you getting any error messages in your console when you click on the button?
And could you perhaps send us a screenshot of your messenger button settings? We might be able to see something that's causing the issue.

( To upload a picture in the forums, you can upload an image to a site like Imgur and paste the image URL in the text box )

    Mail action:
Could you let us know which device you used to test this?
The URI link that we are using should just open the standard mail app installed on pc or mobile and won't close the current browser tab.

    Pinterest:
Thanks for letting us know about this!
It seems that the URL that we are using has been deprecated. We will fix this in an update.

For a temporary fix, use the action Website URL and use this URL:
    http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=YOUR_SITE_URL

    Social Sharing format:
There's currently no option to change the social sharing description.
Perhaps we can make a setting to change the default text of the social sharing in the future.
I'll let our lead developer know about this. 🙂

    Hi James,

Thank you for the reply. I appreciate it.

    Regarding the Facebook Messenger:

I have managed to do a workaround here. Thanks.

    Regarding the Mail Action:

I just tried this on my smartphone, and the Click to email opened my email App. Which is awesome.

However, on my desktop, it opens Gmail (but unfortunately it does so in the same tab). It would be much better if it opened it in a new tab.

    Regarding Pinterest:

Thank you for the workaround. I wonder if there is not some way that the link shared can be the CURRENT web page, rather than a static link such as the Home Page.

Once fixed will this be the case? It is very useful to be able to share an article or product.

    Regarding Social Sharing Format:

Thank you for this. It may be a useful feature in future.

    Kind regards and best wishes,
    Jethro

      Hi MoloMarket ,

      Regarding the Mail Action:
Interesting, I didn't knew it was possible to open Gmail in the browser with the mail URI.
Could you perhaps let us know which mail app is the default on your desktop?
We would like to know about this so that we can test it in the future. 🙂

For a temporary Workaround, use the Website URL and use this link:

      mailto:{YOUR_EMAIL_HERE}

Then enable Open in new tab.

      Regarding Pinterest:
Yes, Once we fix the link it will use the current web page when the button is clicked. 😀

Please let me know if the mail action workaround works!

      Regarding the Mail Action:

The setting I have in my Chrome browser as my default email is: mail.google.com

I hope that helps? Or are you looking for different information?

Thanks for the workaround it seems to be working well on both the Desktop and Mobile.

      Regarding Pinterest:

Awesome. Thanks for that. Do you think the update will be done soon and where can I keep an eye out for this?

      Kind regards,
      Jethro
