Hey, as far as I can see, buttonizer is loading third party content such as webfonts which is seen as breach of GDPR / data protection regulation in the EU. When will Buttonizer incorporate fonts and make loading third party content optional?

  • Hey Rabex ,

Thanks for reaching out. Buttonizer is GDPR compatible as you can turn off loading in icons 🙂

If you already have FontAwesome on your site, make sure to go to the settings in the editor, then go to Icon library and disable Import icon Library.

This should disable loading in the icons on your site using Cloudflares public CDN and you can use your own source.

Let me know if this helps 🙂

    Hi Jasper,

what about the other external resources that are loaded by default:

I turned off the import of the icon library, still there remains cdn.buttonizer.io
I can remember that earlier this was not the case when we used the plugin for other webpages.

    Regards
    Johannes

      Hey Johannes ,

Good question! We do not collect any data of users via our CDN. You can read more about how that works on this page where we explain how and why: https://buttonizer.pro/gdpr/

However, if you still only want to load the resources after consent has given, some GDPR and Cookie plugins allow to not load resources of plugins until consent has given.

Let me know if this helps 🙂

      Cheers,
      Jasper
