WhatsApp Broken Link - "this link couldn't be opened."

Hello,

The WhatsApp chat button appears on my website nicely. But the link is broken...

When you type a message in the WhatsApp pop-up and click "Send" a error message appears on WhatsApp:

"This link couldn't be opened. Check the link & try again"

I am based in UK so have tried using calling code +44 and 0044, but no luck!

Has anyone encountered this before? Any suggested fixes, please?

It looks like the number does not work without a country code.
Could you try adding your country code in front of your number like this "447375..."?

I was previously trying with "+" & "00" so might be worth specifying how to write the number.

We normally remove the + symbol but it looks like we forgot to do it for the widget. We will fix this in our next update. 🙂
