Yes, Buttonizer should be compitable with WordPress version 5.3.2 without any problems!
About the php compatibility, I love that view, I did not know that yet, a lot of other plugins are using the same way for passing variables and I thought it was even on the WordPress docs 🤔 . It won't break the plugin as far as I know. Did you have any issues with it?
We're working on a big update that will be released within a few months. So I'll make sure that we'll update that part of the code and modernize it.
