How to make tablet site use mobile menu?

Hi,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears that anyone using a tablet is automatically going to see the desktop enabled buttonizer menu?

I want visitors who use a tablet to be seeing the mobile menu. The desktop menu I use works great for an actual desktop but looks terrible for a tablet. The mobile menu would be perfect for tablet, but I don't think this is the case from my understanding.

Is this true and if so, can it be changed?

Yes, most tablets would be accessing the desktop site, since the default browser setting for most tablets is to use desktop browsing. The tablet device itself would actually determine what version of the site they are set to view. Most tablets are likely using a desktop browser by default, and it would be a preference setting on the tablet itself if the user wanted to switch to a mobile browser by default (or for that particular session).
