Buttonizer speed (GTMetrix)

Dear Buttonizer,

i have seen your other post last year about this topic, but haven't seen a solution for the following problem. All my websites with buttonizer add 1-2 sec loading time in GTmetrix and that is not good. When i disable the plugin the site loads faster for 1-2 seconds according to GTmetrix.

When you look at the waterfall your plugin adds 1.32 sec.

I use WProcket to speed up my sites and most websites gives me 1-1,5 sec or below 1 sec loading time. But with your plugin it gives me 2-3 seconds loading time with GTmetrix.

Have you got an solution for this issue?

Hi gravistadesign ,

We have added an option under Preferences called "Use ajax on to load the buttons".
Disabling this option will make Buttonizer not use ajax to load in the buttons.

Could you disable this option and see if the load time will improve on your end?

SOLVED !!

Dear James, this did solved my problem indeed. After disabling ajax, it didn't showed me long loading times anymore in GTmetrix on 2 sites.

I'd like to see the no ajax as the default setting. We've been having trouble with page load times all week. The moment I switched buttonizer ajax off, I could see the 1+ seconds disappear. When a user expects 2 second page loads, 1 second is a lot.

I know this is an old topic, but I am having the same issue. I do not see a Preferences tab that will allow me to disable ajax load.

Thanks for reaching out! We removed this preference option long ago, since it is no longer needed as of version 3.0.

Can you please share more information about the issue you're having? I see your website is performing quite fast right now and scoring high on GTmetrix.

I like the plugin a lot. It's doing well on Page Speed Insights for desktop, but for mobile it is scoring in the 60's. During inspection, it appears that Buttonizer is a priority load and seems to be blocking the other scrips from loading (until Buttonizer is fully visible on the site). I have tried myself to look for the scripts to defer, and not successful.

Note: I am only a designer and not a developer.

Thanks for the extra info.

I ran a mobile Google Lighthouse report (which GTmetrix uses as well), and reviewed the main issues impacting performance (screenshot below). I wasn't able to find Buttonizer in the list of issues that have a significant impact to your Performance score.

Would you mind providing the report you're looking at? Actually, a great test would be to temporarily deactivate the Buttonizer plugin, and run another test to see if it gives you any meaningful boost to performance.
