On https://xn--tvttmstarn-r5ad.se/ after the latest update the buttons does not start opened as I have configured it to be, but only in Chrome it looks like. Have tried other browsers and there it seems fine.
Hope you can help!

Obviously it seems to work sometimes and sometimes not, very strange!

  • Hi @lapg ,

Yes, the console logs do not have to do anything with Buttonizer indeed.

As I mentioned, the behaviour you are seeing is expected. You have created a menu, which implies that it should be able to open and close. Consequently, to improve user experience, it automatically remembers if a user has closed it, otherwise the user would have to close the menu again on every page of your website while browsing.

If I understand correctly, you want your menu to always be open. Though this is contradictory to the function of a menu, since this menu can be opened and closed per definition.

If you want to make sure your clients always see the items of your Buttonizer menu, a better option would be to disable the menu. That way, it is not something that can be closed, but you will just see the items of your menu all the time. The menu button (with the plus icon) would also be hidden, because it would serve no function anymore.

Maybe you can try this out and see if you like it. You can disable the menu in:
Group settings -> tab "General" -> "Menu Style" -> disable/enable top-most option called "Menu".

Hi @lapg !

Welcome to the Buttonizer community!

I just checked the website, and it seems to start opened on Chrome (for me on both desktop as mobile). Could you let me know how often this happens?

Also, when it doesn't show. Do you see any errors in the console log? That would help debugging the issue 🙂

Let me know!

Thanks and thank you for your reply.
This only happend a couple of days ago, but today It seems fine until now.
Where do I find the debugging log?
Also, I use the feature/animation "build up". Before the update it did Build Up, but now it only appears.
Thank - Lena

Now it is happening again.
But I dont know where to find the log?

Hi again Jasper.
Yesterday the buttons where closed again, but today they are opened. And this is still only happening in Chrome. Also sorry again, but I don´t know where to find a debugging log. 🙁

Hi @lapg ,

You can open the javascript console (debug logs) using one of the following keyboard shortcuts:

Press Command+Option+J (Mac) or Control+Shift+J (Windows, Linux, Chrome OS) to jump straight into the Console panel.

Hi @lapg ,

I think I know why this is happening so randomly to you.

Your group seems to start opened normally, but when you close the button after that, buttonizer automatically saves this and remembers that it has been closed. So, when you refresh your page again, it will start closed instead of opened (it remembers that it was closed last time).

Every new user will always see your group opened, until they close it themselves of course.

Does this help you?

Thanks for your reply @Castor

This is what I get in the console (but I don´t think any of them has to do with Buttonizer?):

The resource https://xn--tvttmstarn-r5ad.se/wp-content/themes/Divi/core/admin/fonts/modules.ttf?x13465 was preloaded using link preload but not used within a few seconds from the window's load event. Please make sure it has an appropriate as value and it is preloaded intentionally.

Also I believe the buttons always where opened on visit before the last Buttonizer update. Is there a way to make this happen?
