Hello,

How can I track only one button in GA using GTM.

At this moment I have another goals set for buttons that are created w/o Buttonizer, and i don't want to overwrite them if I put GA tag in Buttonizer interface.

Thank you,

Hi Mihnea , I've send this topic to a collegue of mine who has more experience with Google Analytics and will probably be able to answe this 🙂

Mihnea If you want to track one button in GTM you can do the following:

    1. Create a custom class in a Buttonizer button
    2. Go to Google Tag Manager > add a custom Trigger > Click - only links
    3. Then fill in the second radio button on trigger activation
    4. You get a dropdown where you can select click classes > contains > fill in the name that you have put in the custom class option in Buttonizer

When you have set the trigger you can add an tag for google analytics for tracking events. There you can add the trigger to the tag.

That should do the job 😀 .

    Hi Mihnea ,

There is another workaround to make it work. In Google Tag manager you can start the debug mode. You should type in your website. After that you can click on the Buttonizer button that you want to track. On the left side of Google Tag manager you should see a click event appearing. If you click on it and select 'variables' you should see the Buttonizer class. (see screenshot below). You will need to fill in that class as a trigger and it should work 🙂.

In our case the classname that we would like to trigger is buttonizer-button buttonizer-button-0-0-85
