Hi. I set up the Facebook Messenger Chat Widget on my website, using the correct Facebook page ID. However when I click on the Facebook Messenger chat icon on my website, it comes up with this message;
''Sorry, we were unable to open Facebook Messenger! Check the console for more information.''

Please can someone help. Thanks

    Hi stevenpalmer ,

    Thanks for the link.

    I took a look at your site and it seems that an older Facebok sdk is being loaded in and overwriting the one that Buttonizer is trying to load in.

    The sdk that Buttonizer tries to load in includes the Facebook Messenger Widget's code and everything this older sdk has, so you only need to load in Buttonizer's.

    Do you perhaps know if this was manually added into your site or if a plugin has any Facebook functionalities that would try to load in this sdk?

    I'm sorry I don't know what an sdk is. I installed the Buttonizer plugin, input my facebook page ID. Thats it

      Hi stevenpalmer

      Thanks for your reply. It seems like the custom-facebook-feed is the extension that adds the above code (however, we're not sure).

      It conflicts with our Facebook code which we use to load the Facebook widget, their code does not contain the functionalities (the widget) we need to setup the widget.

      Is there any chance you can disable their Facebook SDK import in their settings?

      I've now deleted the custom-facebook-feed. Please can you check now, as the Facebook widget is still not working.

        Hi stevenpalmer ,

        Sorry for the late reply.
        We are trying to figure out on how make sure these two Facebook SDK/scripts are not conflicting with each other.

        It seems like this is a common issue from seeing the Google search results.

        I'll set this in our bugs list for now and let you know when we have a fix for this issue.
